Louisburgh organisation shortlisted for funding

Michael Ring TD, Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, has announced the 45 non-profit organisations shortlisted to receive funding from the Coca-Cola Thank You Fund 2013. The submitted projects were selected for their innovative thinking, ambition and for their ability to deliver on the goal of promoting healthy and active living within local communities in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

A Mayo-based organisation has been shortlisted for its project. Louisburgh HQ wants to extend its community brief in the very important area of health and lifestyle. This project will have two main areas of focus; active living and food fitness. Louisburgh HQ is ideally located close to beaches, mountains and countryside where there are tremendous natural resources available for cycle tracks and loops, swimming, hill-walking, surfing, horse-riding and kayaking.

Members of the public are now being asked to vote for the project they determine to be most deserving of a grant from the €125,000 fund at www.coca-cola.ie/thankyou Votes will be accepted up until midnight on Monday September 30. One overall winner will be given €25,000 and 10 other organisations will receive €10,000 each.
