Mayo County Council’s Great Gathering

Did you at any stage of your life work for Mayo County Council? Were you ever a town or county councillor? If so, Mayo County Council’s Great Gathering is calling you.

To mark the year of the Gathering, Mayo County Council will hold its Great Gathering in August to bring all past and present members and staff of the council together.

On Friday August 16 The Welcome Inn Hotel, Castlebar, will play host to a night filled with joy and entertainment in the company of old friends. The night kicks off with a display of old photographs and memorabilia relating to former council staff and members. If you have any suitable items contact 094 904 7515 or 094 904 7266.

A buffet dinner, with entertainment during the meal by local band The 4&9s will be next on the menu. They will be followed by Reflex Band who are sure to keep the dance floor hopping well into the small hours. Many who attend will have a lifetime of memories come flooding back, and who knows who you might catch sight of on the night.

The council’s Great Gathering will be run in conjunction with other events in Castlebar over the same weekend, so why not plan this night as a great start to a weekend full of local activities. Visit www.thegatheringireland.com for further details.

Tickets, which are €10, are available from reception in Mayo County Council. Alternatively, you can email [email protected]
