A raffle will be held in the run up to the night for two All-Ireland tickets and other prizes. The winning raffle ticket will be picked on the night. Other prizes will be raffled also.

The incumbent Mayor of Louisburgh, Andy Durkan, said: “Well, after 32 years in the position of Mayor I think it is time now to pass on the mantle. It’ll be great for the parish. And I wish the candidates all the very best in their campaigns. The calibre of candidates is very strong so there is definitely no doubt we will end up with a great Mayor of Louisburgh.”

When asked who he would be supporting he took a deep breadth and said: “Musha, I’d like to support them all. The main thing to remember is that all this is for a great cause, and to have some fun with it.”

The candidates for the position are Brendan Heneghan, Michael O'Malley (Main Street ) and Jimmy Corrigan. All the funds raised throughout the campaign will go to the development of the new facilities at the GAA club grounds.
