For the second year running, Mid West Radio’s Tommy Marren Show will broadcast live from the foyer of Mayo General Hospital on Thursday December 18 between 9am and 11am.
Members of the public are invited to see Tommy interview local guests, and to listen to choirs and local musicians singing Christmas hymns and carols. Santa will also be there to meet with children and remind them to go to bed early on Christmas Eve, and there will be plenty of sweets for any children – big and small - who turn up on the day!
Staff from MGH and HSE’s Community Care and Mental Health Services, based at St Mary’s Hospital, will also call to see Tommy in action, and to play requests for loved ones. After the show, Tommy will visit the patients in the hospital’s wards, and Santa will pay a special visit to the children who may be staying in hospital over Christmas.
So if you have all your Christmas shopping done and you want a fun morning for you and your family, you could do a lot worse than visit the foyer of Mayo General Hospital and help Tommy and Santa wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
