National Enterprise Week in Mayo

A number of Mayo based companies will be displaying their wares at Bank of Ireland branches across the country for the eighth National Enterprise Week, which takes place from May 17 to 24. Bank of Ireland business customers and non-customers have been invited once again to Show Their Business at their local branch, to have the opportunity to interact directly with customers and highlight local success stories.

According to Bank of Ireland, at the start of National Enterprise Week, new and approved lending to small and medium enterprises (SMEs ) has risen by more than one quarter in the first three months of 2013, based on year on year figures. Bank of Ireland has already approved some €1 billion since the beginning of the year and is confident that lending for 2013 will exceed its new and increased lending target of €4 billion. The bank noted that the key driver of lending was higher than average loan values in key sectors and that it is seeing a definite trend of momentum in the hospitality, manufacturing, and healthcare sectors.

Companies showcasing in Bank of Ireland branches in Mayo include: Café Rua – Aran and Colleen McMahon, at the Castlebar branch of Bank of Ireland. Café Rua has two outlets in Castlebar and currently employs 35 people.

Hardy Bucks Films Limited, at the Swinford branch of Bank of Ireland. Three TV series have been commissioned already and its first movie hit the big screen this year. It has already got agreement from Universal Pictures for a second movie and hopes to start shooting in September 2013.

TMG Transport, at the Swinford branch of Bank of Ireland. This transport company started with only one bus five years ago and now has some 20 vehicles on the road. The company works with a number of bodies including HSE, Rehab, Mayo Rural Transport, National Learning Network, and School Bus Transport.

Cassidy Motors Limited, at the Charlestown branch of Bank of Ireland. Cassidy Motors, owned by Des and Carmel Cassidy, is an agent in the area for Suzuki cars

On Wednesday May 22 Bank of Ireland will host a talk on Getting Your Business Moving Online with guest speakers Jenny Barton Brennan from Virtual Office Worx in Castlebar.
