Charity Strictly Come Dancing tonight

Twelve couples from the Ballyhaunis area will show off their dance moves, in a Strictly Come Dancing show, to raise funds for the local Scoil Iosa primary school tonight, Friday April 19. The show will be compered by Midwest Radio’s Paul Claffey, and takes place at the McWilliam Park Hotel in Claremorris.

The couples including a number of teachers from Scoil Iosa – will display a variety of different dance styles, and the audience will assist a celebrity judging panel in selecting the winning couple. A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed, with dancing afterwards to The Heebie Jeebies. Tickets priced €15 are available from Scoil Iosa Ballyhaunis, or at the McWilliam Park tonight.

Hilom Hiraya exhibition in Westport

The debut exhibition of the visionary art of Francis Lanuza artist and architect is now taking place in Westport. Hilom Hiraya- Healing Imagination is a collection of visionary art inspired by his work with the healer shamans of the Shuar Indians of the Amazon. These medicine men are renowned for healing within their culture. The exhibition is being displayed until Tuesday April 30 at the Greenway Gallery Westport inside the tourist office. The office is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
