New Swinford Library almost ready to roll

The new Swinford Library and Cultural Centre will be open to the public in the next few months according to acting director of services for the area Paul Benson.

Speaking at the February meeting of the electoral area committee, Mr Benson told the members: “This new space should be fully opened by April or May we hope. The library part should be opened very soon and the rest shortly after. The new facility also includes a 350 square metre, multi-purpose, space suitable for meetings, presentations, small productions and exhibitions and will be available to the public to hire. The space will come with 100 seats and has the space to accommodate comfortably 150-160 people seated.”

He also informed the meeting that the council will hold an open day in the centre very soon for the public to have a look at it.
