Master class on mental health in GMIT

A talk on mental health will take place at the GMIT Castlebar Campus on Thursday February 14. Dr Grainne Fadden, a leading UK clinical psychologist, will present a master class on Working Collaboratively with Families in Mental Health: Challenges and Opportunities.

The Castlebar native and noted UK expert clinical psychologist, researcher and family therapist will be of benefit to any family, individuals, or professionals who have dealings with the mental health services. The master class will take place from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Dr Fadden’s pioneering work to date in the UK has resulted in her receiving numerous accolades including the prestigious Marsh Award which is a lifetime achievement award given by Rethink, the UK national mental health charity, for her outstanding contribution to mental health.

Anyone involved in any aspect of mental health, or just curious about how families can be involved to facilitate positive outcomes for those affected by mental health issues, should not miss this opportunity to hear her thoughts and views on the subject.
