Fractal takes to the Linenhall stage next Wednesday

Musical talents Philip Lawson and Anna Murray present an exciting evening of contemporary classical music with video accompaniments at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Wednesday January 16 at 8pm.

Fractal is a contemporary music production company set up by composer, musician, and writer Anna Murray and Irish classical guitarist Philip Lawson. It aims to create new contexts for contemporary music through informal settings and collaboration with other media. Dedicated to new Irish music, for this concert Fractal has commissioned new works for guitar and electronics from five Irish composers, to be performed as part of their debut tour by Philip Lawson. The pieces run the gamut from exciting rhythmic studies to contemplative musical meditations, each accompanied by a visual realisation of the music by Irish video artists including Maura McDonnell, Eric Grehan, Carsten Krieger, and Jane Cassidy.
