Castlebar mini rugby registration Registration

for the upcoming mini rugby season will take place at the clubhouse from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Thursday next September 6. All parents signing up children are asked to bring a completed registration form and the membership fee. Log on to www.castlebarrdc.com where full details on the registration form can be found. Age groups catered for are u8 (born before 2005 ), u9 (born before 2004 ), u10 (born before 2003 ), u11 (born before 2002 ), u12 (born before 2001 ). Kilmurray host memorial tournament

Kilmurray Soccer Club hosted the 2012 Darren Langdon Memorial Tournament recently. Teams from Kilmurray, Enniscrone/Kilglass, Conn Rangers, Manulla and Ballina Town competed in a feast of football. Despite some heavy rain at intervals the boys and girls enjoyed a great day with all playing football. In the cup competition Kilmurray A ran out the eventual winners with Enniscrone/Kilglass taking the runners up prize. The shield was won by Ballina Town with Manulla the runners up. Kilmurray B won the plate with Conn Rangers taking the runners up spot.

Dolphins swimmer takes bronze

Adam Frank, Ballina Dolphins Swimming Club, swan the race of his life when he won a bronze medal in the u13 100m freestyle at the Irish long course division one Swimming Championships in University of Limerick Sports Arena. He knocked two seconds off his already impressive Connacht squad time. He went on to swim his 200m and 400m freestyle events clocking up impressive times in both. Shane Dunne also competed in this event and recorded some good times in the u13 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, and 200m breaststroke. Shane also competed in the national finals of the Community Games in Athlone and put in a great performance in the 50m freestyle taking third place and a bronze medal for his gallant swim.
