We Banjo 3 are picking their way to the Linenhall

Prepare to experience banjo playing as you have never seen it before when the amazing We Banjo 3 perform at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Thursday, September 13, at 8pm as part of a music network tour.

Combining the dazzling talents of Enda Scahill and brothers Martin and David Howley, We Banjo 3 offer a breathtaking mix of virtuosity, verve, and sheer joie-de-vivre. A member of the Brock McGuire band, banjo wizard Enda Scahill has won four All-Ireland titles, guested with The Chieftains, recorded with Ricky Skaggs, and toured with Frankie Gavin and Stockton’s Wing. In We Banjo 3, he has teamed up with Ireland’s hottest young banjo players, brothers Martin and David Howley, with over 10 All-Ireland titles to their names. Winners of the Music Network Young Music wide Award, the trio from Galway combine Irish music with old-time American, ragtime, and bluegrass influences, revealing the banjo’s rich legacy from its roots in African and minstrel music through to the Irish traditional sound pioneered by Barney McKenna.
