Mulranny

Tony McDonnell won his third captain’s prize at Mulranny on Sunday and his second in three years when he had one shot to spare over Owen Gallagher. McDonnell shot a 69 in the 18 holes qualifying round and used all of his experience to battle the gale and rain in the six hole play off. The first round leader Brian McDonald experienced all golfers’ worse nightmare of signing for a wrong score which deprived him of the runner up spot. He was quick to point out his mistake and accepted the consequence in very good spirit.
