Innovative Greenway Artists Initiative to be launched this Sunday

The Greenway Artists Initiative in collaboration with The Custom House Studios have announced details of the launch of The Greenway Sculpture Project 2012, by Michael Ring TD, Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, at 3pm at Mulranny Park Hotel on Sunday July 22. Anyone interested in first-time exhibition are invited to attend.

Works by 14 artists namely John Brady, Rory Breslin, Mark Chambers, Lynda Christian, Edward Domican, Catherine Greene, Ronan Halpin, Nicky Hooper, Tom Meskell, Cecilia More, Tim Morris, John Rowlands, Verona Stellet and Ian Weiczorek can be seen along the Great Western Greenway from Westport Quay to the Currane Peninsula west of Mulranny.

The Greenway Sculpture Project 2012 is a temporary exhibition of contemporary sculpture. The Greenway runs 42 kilometres along the coast of Clew Bay linking Westport to Achill Island. Walkers, visitors and their families can follow the trail of sculpture from Westport to Achill Sound or experience the delights of this outdoor exhibition coming across the sculptures by chance.

The Greenway Sculpture Project 2012 has been organised by The Greenway Artists Initiative and the Custom House Studios Ltd with support from Mayo County Council and Mayo Naturally Ltd.
