Referendum public information meeting to be held in Ballina

A number of prominent local and national speakers have been lined up for a public information meeting on tonight (Friday May 4 ) at 8pm in the Hotel Ballina, Foxford Road, Ballina, on the EU Stability Treaty.

With the Referendum taking place on May 31, the meeting, to be hosted by local Fine Gael TD, Deputy Michelle Mulherin, will afford the opportunity to the general public to hear the independent views of leaders in the fields of farming, business and Irish- European Affairs on the European Stability Treaty Referendum.

Speakers joining Deputy Mulherin include Pat Cox, former president of the European Parliament and a former TD and MEP; Brendan Sugrue, manager, Hollister and regional president IBEC and John Bryan, national president IFA.

The meeting promises to be an informative one and will go a long way towards clarifying the implications of the treaty for Ireland. The speakers will be available to answer questions afterwards.
