Youthreach Kiltimagh has been awarded €6,323 to provide young people to work with two local artists to enable the group to create a performance piece based on samba drumming and costume making for the St Patrick’s Day parade, and Louisburgh Community Project has received €7,000 to interpret the life of Granuaille by creating an installation incorporating music, puppetry, movement and multi-media.

The Artist in Youth Work Residency Award, co-funded by the Arts Council and the Department of Education and Science, youth affairs section, funds collaborative arts projects between professional artists and groups of young people at a local and regional level. This year 15 organisations across Ireland received various amounts of money to fund their projects involving young people.
