Christmas cheer was enjoyed throughout December in Ballyhaunis with the successful “Ballyhaunis Christmas Spirit 2011” proving a hit with locals and visitors alike.
This year to deviate from the popular shop local messages, Ballyhaunis Chamber with the help of the Ballyhaunis Traders decided to focus on spreading Christmas cheer.
Free festivities for all the family were held throughout the month, allowing people to come and enjoy without the concern of cost, starting with Santa’s turning on of the lights, followed by children’s disco’s, puppet shows, movie screenings and carol singing by candlelight.
There was also a celebrity drop in with Daniel O’Donnell - a massive crowd gathered to welcome the singer to Eddie Murphy Menswear Ballyhaunis where he picked the winning ticket in the final draw for the €500 voucher shopping spree in Ballyhaunis, which was won by Katie McNicholas from Balla.
