Salt therapy spa now in Mayo

Mayo’s first salt therapy spa is now open at Diamond’s Car Park, Ballina. Salt therapy is 100 per cent drug free and is a scientifically proven treatment for respiratory and skin conditions.

During the treatment, a micro climate similar to that in a natural salt cave is simulated. Each session, in the relaxing and calming environment, lasts for 45 minutes. Patients sit in an artificial salt cave and breathe in the dry agent, which is immediately transported to the smallest bronchia and to other parts of the respiratory tract. Once in place it dissolves and attracts the small impurities which are either coughed up by the patient or which leave the organism during the metabolic processes via the bloodstream.

There are two treatment rooms in the spa, the first is for parents and children and one for adults.

Private sessions, for those who have skin conditions and want to have as much as their skin exposed to the salt, can also be accommodated.

You do not need to wear any special clothes when you go to the spa, you will be provided with a hairnet and shoe covers for the therapy.

The spa help all ages with those who have skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis and acne, and respiratory illnesses, such as bronchitis, sinusitis, asthma, hay fever, and snoring.

Salt therapy can also dramatically enhance sports performance, which can help improve lung function and is believed to increase lung capacity and stamina.

Salt room therapy is most effective when it is administered at least twice a week or more frequently. To make an appointment, visit Western Salt Therapy Spa, Diamond’s Car Park, Ballina. Phone 096 73587.
