Aware seeking facilitators

Aware - Helping to Defeat Depression is currently seeking volunteers to train as support group facilitators in County Mayo.

Each Aware support group is facilitated by two trained volunteer facilitators. Aware support groups offer a safe, confidential, space where attendees can talk about their own experience of depression and explore available options. The aim of the group is to empower individual attendees towards their own recovery from depression. The role of the facilitator is to ensure that each group meeting runs smoothly, that each person gets a chance to share if he/she wishes to, and that the confidential nature of the group is respected. Full training will be given and the facilitator will also receive training updates throughout his/her time with the organisation. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who can commit to three hours each week and who wants to make a very real and positive difference in the lives of others.
