Man who threatenined to kill stepfather agrees to stay away

A 32-year-old man who threatened to kill/cause serious harm to his deceased mother’s husband, gave an undertaking at Castlebar District Court to stay away from this man.

On April 30 2010 at 5.24am, gardaí were called to 16 Garryduff Drive after the panel of the front door had been kicked in by Martin Fallon, Bayview Avenue, West End, Bundoran. At 7.50am, the same day, Thomas Alt, the resident of the house was assaulted by Fallon. Later that day Fallon rang the house landline and made threats against Alt, he said: “I have nothing to live for now that my mother has gone. I am going to kill myself now and take you with me.”

The defendant, who has no previous convictions, had been in Mayo to attend his mother’s month’s mind Mass.

Fallon gave a sworn undertaking in court to stay away from Mr Alt. Judge Mary Devins adjourned the case to December 21 for sentencing.
