Work to begin in New Year on new enterprise centre for Westport

Work will commence in the next couple of weeks on an enterprise centre in Westport.

Town clerk Anne Moore informed the monthly town council meeting that a contract has been awarded to Monaghan Construction from Castlebar, with work to commence on the €1 million project in the next couple of weeks.

Funds for the centre are drawn from Enterprise Ireland, which is to give €500,000 in funding; €200,000 from Mayo County Council; €200,000 from Westport Town Council; and €100,000 from the Chamber of Commerce.

The enterprise centre will be located at the IDA Technology and Business Park in the town.
