Increase in visitor numbers to Westport House

With a decrease of in-bound tourist numbers during these recessionary times, it is good to see that Westport House and Pirate Adventure Park is seeing an increase in visitors which shows that “staycations” are the new vacations.

Since 2007 the tourist attraction, which is 50 years in business, has seen a 27 per cent increase in revenue — 12.5 per cent increase in admissions, an 18 per cent increase in campers and caravanners, and season tickets and retail revenue have more than doubled.

“Westport House is delighted to see a renewed growth in the number of visitors and the business it brings to the local economy of Westport, Mayo and the West of Ireland,” said Sheelyn Browne, managing director of Westport House and Pirate Adventure Park.
