Court for games consoles thefts

A 19-year-old man who stole games consoles from a private residence, which he then sold on, was before Ballina District Court this week.

In April of this year Daniel Sherlock, Main Street, Balla took possession of a stolen game controller, which was stolen by another, from a residence at 22 The Willows, Castlebar.

At a later date, the defendant stole a Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3 from the same address. The value of these consoles was €850. Sherlock sold these games consoles on to a store in Castlebar for €142.

The defendant, who has no previous convictions, had compensation in court. Judge Mary Devins applied the Probation Act.
