Find the Lost Brothers in Ballina

As part of Mayo County Council’s Arts Office Summer Music Series The Lost Brothers play in St Michael’s Church, Ballina, Friday July 16 at 8pm.

The Lost Brothers are guitarists and vocalists Mark McCausland and Oisín Leech are not actually brothers but from the way they talk about their music and the dreams they both have, they might as well be. Their debut album The Trails Of The Lonely (Parts I and III ) received rave reviews in England and Ireland from the likes of NME, The Irish Times, Hot Press, and Word Magazine, comparing the sound to that of a more ragged Simon and Garfunkel. Mark and Oisín’s voices carry a feeling of both strength and vulnerability and it captures the very essence of the human spirit.

This is the fourth of seven free concerts that take place throughout Mayo. The Summer Music Series kicked off in Westport with the Artis Quartet, the second and third concerts will take place in Achill and Belmullet this weekend. Lunfardia play Achill on July 9 and Gráda play in Belmullet on July 10. Then the Lost Brothers play Ballina on July 16. Other upcoming events in this series include Tarab in Louisburgh on July 22, the National Chamber Choir in Ballyhaunis on July 23, and rounding up this year’s Summer Music Series is Cadenza in Charlestown on July 24.
