George Lee returns to business broadcasting

The very popular RTE radio show The Business presented by John Murray is to be taken over by newly returned RTE reporter George Lee for the Summer.

The former Fine Gael TD’s new show, entitled Mind Your Business, will feature ‘issues of business and economy, the big bad recession and debates on how the country and the government are handling it all.’

Talk-business programmes have become a huge growth area in radio broadcasting in recent times with Newstalk 106 and Today FM also producing top quality output. Talented business reporters of note include Ted Harding and Mark Coleman on whose weekend shows Irish business is comprehensively dissected and discussed.

The current recession is said to have spawned a whole new generation of entrepreneurs keen to hear business advice from experts across all sectors. Business bulletins have also come to feature strongly in daily news programmes starting from as early as 6.30am on Irish TV and radio channels.

As part of the RTE radio 1 line-up changes, John Murray will now move to the daily morning 9am slot formerly occuped by Ryan Tubridy, who is moving to fill the late Gerry Ryan’s signature 2fm morning show.
