The actor Mick Lally returns to his roots to launch a book by Fr Pádraig Standún on Sunday July 11 at 7pm in Tourmakeady Community Hall.
The book, Tuar Mhic Éadaigh: Stair agus Seanchas recounts he lives of the ordinary people in olden times and an account of the War of Independence in the area, as well as a history of the buildings, the institutions, and the people who still call Tourmakeady home.
Fr Standún is a well-known writer, activist, and priest and is widely considered as one of the most accomplished novelists in contemporary Irish-language literature.
