Family day entertainment not to be missed at Westport House

Alice Through The Looking Glass

The fabulous, wonderful and rather perplexing world of Alice Through The Looking Glass will be recreated at Westport Gouse next month when Quantum Theatre presents a brand new adaptation of the hugely popular Lewis Carroll production.

The story of Alice Through The Looking Glass is a real family favourite, following Alice’s fantastical adventures in the strange world she enters through the mirror above her drawing-room fireplace.

This outdoor event will take place on the evening of Friday July 23 at 7pm in front of Westport House. Tickets are available at the Westport House Ticket Office/ Contact 09827766.

New visitor attractions

Visitors and Family Season Membership holders can enjoy two new attractions at Westport House this year including a novel new Tree Trail of 10 various tree types throughout the estate and a scary ‘Giant Fly’, now resident in the dungeons!

This mesmerising creature is part of the Erratics exhibition of sculpture and printmaking by St John Hennessy, running at the Waterfront Gallery next month. Inside the historic walls of Westport House are 30 viewing rooms, many representing some of the finest work of the famous architects Richard Cassels and Thomas Ivory, while evidence of Grace O’Malley’s 16th century castles can still be seen in the deep and dark recesses of the dungeons.

Be sure to make a visit to Westport House this summer for a great day out for all the family. www.westporthouse.ie
