Despite joining the group almost 30 years ago, Matt Molloy is the newest member of The Chieftains A native of county Roscommon, Molloy is widely recognized as the best flute player in Irish traditional music. Matt and family have lived in Westport for many years where, sadly, his wife Geraldine recently passed away.

The line-up is completed by The Chieftains’ founder and leader, Paddy Moloney.
