Flynn tops Mayo expenses claims charts

Fianna Fáil TD, Dep Beverly Flynn was the top expenses claimant of the seven national representatives from County Mayo over the months of March and April, it was revealed this week. From now on TDs and senators expenses will be published online on the Oireachtas website on a monthly basis. Tuesday was the first day that the expenses were published. Deputy Flynn was also the only one of the seven Mayo Oireachtas representatives to submit vouched expenses for which she received €10,091.68 for the two months or €5,045.84 each month.

Next on the list were deputies Enda Kenny and Michael Ring who both received €4,154.17 per month bringing it up to a total of €8,308.34 each for the two months. Deputy John O’Mahony was third in the league tables with a claim of €4,060.17 per month for a total of €8,120.34.

Fine Gael Senator Paddy Burke was the highest claimant of the two Seanad members with a claim of €6,966.66 for the two months while Senator John Carty claimed €6,390.66 for March and April.

The lowest claimant was Minister of State Dara Calleary who had a flat rate ministerial claim of €1,000 per month for a total of €2,000.
