During the monthly meeting of Westport Town Council, a report which highlights the provision of childcare in Westport concludes that there is more than sufficient supply for pre-school places, however, there is no community facility providing full time, part time, and afterschool care in Westport.
The report compiled by the County Childcare Committee shows that there are 22 childcare facilities in the electoral area and 11 in the town. Acting town manager Martin Keating said that childcare facilities in the Quay and Sharkey Hill area of Westport need to be targeted in the future.
