Mother disqualified from driving for having her child unrestrained

A mother of seven, who had her four-year-old unrestrained in the back of her car, was disqualified from driving for six months and fined €300 at Castlebar District Court on Wednesday.

Garda John Flanagan observed Ellen Conroy, 40 Churchview, Ballinrobe, driving on March 26 this year at 1.20pm on Lawn Road, Castlebar. Both Conroy and her husband were wearing seatbelts while her child was not wearing any restraint.
