Bagatelle at the Beaten Path

What a great and outstanding achievement for a band to reach its 30th anniversary and for its music/songs to still be as popular now as they were way back then! Yes, in the eighties Bagatelle had so many great hits. ‘Summer in Dublin’ kickstarted this amazing run of hits; songs that would become household favourites in Ireland and eventually all over the globe.

From humble beginnings and endless gigs, Bagatelle toured Ireland for two years and then found overnight success when ‘Summer in Dublin’ went straight in at number one. This was followed by several hits like ‘Second Violin’, ‘Trump Card’, ‘Leeson Street Lady’, ‘All Fall Down Philadelphia’, ‘Johnny Set ‘Em Up’, ‘Love is the Reason’, and ‘I Need You’. These songs certainly stood the test of time, as indeed the band themselves have, and still sound as good as ever. Bagatelle continue to tour in far flung places across Europe, US, United Arab Emirates, and China as well as in Ireland.

Their 30th Anniversary Collection brings together a special double CD set, featuring 12 new original tracks including ‘She Doesn’t Live Here Anymore’ which was originally written for and recorded by Joe Dolan and is now a tribute to him. It also includes a first Live in Concert CD from the Millennium Forum Theatre, Derry, of all their greatest hits. In their 30 years on the music scene, Bagatelle have shared stages with U2, Bob Marley, Thin Lizzy, and Van Morrison. Others have recorded their songs including Phil Coulter, Johnny McEvoy, James Galway, Wolfe Tones, and Tommy Flemming. Their hit ‘Summer in Dublin’ has 85 cover versions recorded world-wide so far, so now is your chance to see them live in concert in the Beaten Path on October 9, Ring the Beaten Path for more details on 094 93658.
