Ever wondered what it would be like to dine at Fawlty Towers? Now you can find out as the Castlebar Chamber of Commerce presents Fawlty Towers… the dining experience at the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, on Thursday July 16 at 8pm.
Enter the snobbish world of manic Basil, his domineering wife Sybil, and challenged waiter Manuel. Be one of the steady stream of bemused guests trying to make Manuel understand what it is you want. Asking for an ice bucket ends up with your being presented with a “nice bucket”. A simple procedure like opening a bottle of wine can become a huge drama. And maybe just maybe in the middle of all these events you might get some service, Fawlty style of course.
Everything that can go wrong will! This will be two hours of “fat wobbling, gut – busting, face-aching laughter” while at the same time enjoying a fabulous light meal.
A champagne reception will greet you at 8pm before the show and after there will be a race night where all bets are on! Local celebrity chef Oliver Kelleher will also be there on the night to dish up Kelleher’s Flambe Boxty. A fun filled night of entertainment, laughs, prizes, and more can be expected.
Acclaimed both nationally and internationally, selling out the Melbourne International Comedy festival in 2007 and 2008, Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2008m and at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2008, this interactive comedy dining experience is a must see for fans of all ages. Tickets are available from €40 from the Royal Theatre Box Office on 094 902 3111, Castlebar Chamber of Commerce on 094 902 4845, and Gifts Supreme 094 902 7021. www.theroyal.ie
