Local makers from Foxford Woollen Mills get involved in largest ever August craft month

August Craft Month celebrates local craft in Ireland across the entire month, with local Mayo makers from The Foxford Woollen Mills getting involved in the nationwide initiative.

This year is the largest ever August Craft Month with a packed programme of over 230 events including workshops, exhibitions, and festivals to allow audiences to immerse themselves in local craft.

The exciting free Foxford Experience is taking place on Sunday, August 21 at the Foxford Mills on Providence Road. Learn all about their story, from the beginning with the visionary woman who founded the Mill 130 years ago to provide employment and empower locals, to weaving through the next 130 years with some interesting stories and a glimpse into how their famous throws are made, still to this day, in the mill.

The Foxford Experience, short tours, take place daily at 10.30 and 11.30 in the Mill. People can enjoy creative craft celebrations on their doorstep, as well as hit the road on a craft-inspired adventure or staycation.
