Youth facilities to be provided at Ballinrobe’s Maple Hall

The Maple Hall in Ballinrobe, which has been lying derelict for a decade, will receive a face lift now that the Ballinrobe Family Resource Centre has been granted a lease for the premises.

The move was welcomed and formally proposed by local councillor Damien Ryan at this week’s meeting of the Ballinrobe electoral area committee. It is believed the hall will be used for badly needed youth facilities for the town. Cllr Ryan pointed out that Ballinrobe has housing but not the social infrastructure to go with it.

Cllr Patsy O’Brien said the facility would be a great asset for the town and shows a great commitment to the community. “No-one needs it more than the youth. It is vital to work with them during their early stages of development,” he added.
