Ballina based Fianna Fáil TD, Dara Calleary has welcomed the announcement that Ballina will benefit from nearly €400,000 in Leader Funding.

Deputy Calleary said this week: "I am delighted to report that Ballina is to benefit from a significant investment under the LEADER Programme. Nearly €400,000 will be invested in the town. Ballina RFC has been approved funding of €251,469.66 for clubhouse and grounds improvements. Ballina Tidy Towns Committee has been approved funding of €106,076.37 for improvements at Tom Ruane Park on the Sligo Road. Mayo County Council has been allocated a grant of €27,194.40 towards a feasibility study for a recreational route between Ballina and Enniscrone in an anticipated partnership with Sligo County Council. I want to acknowledge the efforts of all involved and congratulate the organisations that have been successful."
