Mayo get their dates with championship destiny

Ladies Football

If they manage to make it all the way to the All Ireland final this year, the Mayo Senior Ladies will be playing the final in Croke Park on the Sunday before Christmas, the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA ) confirmed this week.

The LGFA also confirmed that the senior championship will get underway over the weekend of October 31 to November 1, with round two the following weekend and round three the weekend after that, with the group stages wrapping up over the weekend of November 14/15. With a two week break before the All Ireland semi-finals and three week break in the lead up to the final.

Mayo have been drawn in group four of the championship groupings and will open their account in round two on the weekend of November 7/8 with a home game against Tyrone, and complete it the following weekend with a road trip to the Orchard county to take on Armagh. If Mayo win their group and make it to the semi-finals, they will take on the winners of group three, which includes current All Ireland champions Dublin, Donegal and Waterford.
