Cash for your old phone

C&C Cellular and Midwest Radio have launched a Fibbs for Fones scheme in order to raise money for life saving defibrillators in the local community.

“Fibbs for Fones is a very straightforward scheme,” explains Brendan Chambers, C&C Cellular, “All the community group has to do is to collect 500 old, damaged, or unused mobile phones before May. We’ve found a market to sell the phones for cash which in turn buys a defibrillator for that specific group. That’s the beauty of it, the benefit is going straight to the people who have put in the effort.”

If you would like to help with this life saving campaign, search your house for old, unused, or broken mobile phones and bring them to a collection bin in any C&C Cellular shops (in Ballaghaderreen, Ballina, Ballinrobe, Belmullet, Castlebar, Claremorris, Swinford, Tubbercurry, and Westport ) or to Bits and Bobs Foxford. If you want your phone to go towards fundraising for a specific community group, either put it in a clearly labelled bag before dropping it into the collection bin, or else give it directly to a community group member.

A gala charity ball supporting the campaign will take place on Saturday August 22 in Breaffy House Hotel, Castlebar. It will mark the end of this year’s campaign and acknowledge the sterling efforts of the community groups and all who have contributed. Contact C&C Cellular on 1800 360000 for more information or tickets.
