U.M.A.N are coming to Garbo's

The Folkizm series of shows at Garbo's will continue on Saturday next, July 27, when U.M.A.N (U Must Act Now ) takes to the stage in the Castlebar venue.

U.M.A.N (real name Brian Flanagan ) grew up on the traditional side of things, touring and recording cover songs until he left a soapy shower to go buy a guitar and write his first song about a break-up, which got the ball rolling.

He released his debut original album Dreaming Road, which featured a duet with folk blues legend Eric Bibb, who described his voice as "Glorious". They performed Bibb's song on The Late Late Show, after which came recording contracts in Germany with Stockfisch records where the album, Where Dreams Are Made, received critical acclaim.

With the invention of a new sound came a new name and band which last year saw a sold-out nationwide tour, another Late Late performance and an Electric Picnic main stage performance, backed by the Dublin Gospel Choir.

2019 has started with recording the new album, a main stage performance at Sea Sessions - with more to follow.

Check him out on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxhQRid3gAwoSi9eqm_OG1Q or just go see him!

The songs make you feel good with his uplifting inspiring soul sound which was epitomised in his break-out single "Flamin Day" - which became one of the most played Irish songs in 2017.

Admission is €15 payable on the door and support will come from Conor Ward on the night.
