The family run diner and takeaway has recently undergone an overhaul inside, with a new state-of-the-art high-efficiency fryer installed, to make sure that their food has even more flavour packed into it, while a new cosy dining area has also been introduced to increase their seating capacity.
The man behind Danolla's in Castlebar is Pat Joe O'Connell - who is carrying on a family tradition in the business, with his family running successful take-aways in Westport and Castlebar.
Danolla's is famous for their hand-cut chips, which are cut fresh every day and have been a firm favourite for locals and visitors alike in Castlebar since they first opened their doors - and that continues to this day.
What goes great with hand cut fresh chips? Delicious cod of course - and today being Good Friday - is the traditional day for everyone to go for a fish dish battered and cooked to order in their open kitchen by Danolla's. They offer a wide range of fish dishes, including fresh battered cod, fresh smoked cod, breaded plaice, fresh cod goujons and scampi - something delicious for everyone.
But of course it's not just fish that has mouths watering in Danolla's with their wide and tasty range of burgers catering for every taste, with the classics all available, as well as a few new and original ones being added every few months. Current specials include the 'Bigger than a Big Mac' and 'The Arthur' - a slow cooked and marinaded pulled pork burger, that is marinated for 12 hours and then slow cooked for another 12 hours - a full day's worth of preparation before it hits your lips.
Danolla's also offers a full range of dining options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with daily lunch and dinner specials available each day, with something for everyone on offer.
