The genius comedy of Terry Alderton

THE RÓISÍN Dubh will celebrate its ninth birthday in style when the award winning comedian Terry Alderton takes to the stage of the Dominick Street venue next week.

Róisín Dubh 2.0 9th Birthday Weekend Celebrations begins on Friday June 21 at 8pm with Alderton performing his show Season 4? and support from Galway comedians Sean Sheridan, Johnny Graham, John O’Hare, and Kenny Gaughan. The MC will be John Donnellan.

Terry Alderton has been described by Michael McIntyre as “sensational, a powerhouse ... inspiring”; Eddie Izzard has called him “a very funny comic with a fantastic comedy mind”; Frank bishop declared his comedy “the best I have seen in years!”; while Frank Sinner put is simply: “A f**king genius”.

As well as acclaim from his peers, Terry is also the recipient of the New Zealand Comedy Guild Award - Best International Act 2011 and 2012; The Sun Comedian of the Year 2011; and winner of the Three Weeks Critics Award 2010.

A Terry Alderton show promises a hyper-hour of warped wit and contorted comedy. A performer of uninhibited extremes and sheer unconventionality, Terry will deliver a spellbinding amalgamation of noises, voices, incredible physicality, and a mind-blowing insight into the inner workings of a fantastic comedy mind.

A former Southend United goalkeeper, Terry began his extensive career in comedy when at 18 his first open spot led him to audition for Sky’s talent show Sky Star Search. Terry wonand the comedy industry was never the same again.
