Major supermarket adds fleet of new Sprinter vans

The growth in demand for e-grocery deliveries can be seen in the recent move by supermarket giant, Tesco, to strengthen its fleet in Ireland with the addition of 63 new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans.

One of the most connected vans ever launched by Mercedes-Benz will now connect Tesco customers with its e-grocery needs across the country. Commenting, Rob Smallwood, Fleet Service Operations Manager at Tesco said, “fulfilling customer demands in our growing e-grocery business requires a fleet of vehicles that can deliver time and again on our customer commitments, in the new Sprinter we have found that vehicle”.

The Sprinter 314.43 chassis cabs will soon become a familiar sight on Irish roads making home grocery deliveries for Tesco throughout Dublin and as far west as Galway. Each vehicle comes complete with automatic transmission, electric parking brake and MBUX multimedia system with seven inch touch screen.

Bodies were fitted by Solomons Commercials with refrigeration units fitted by West of Ireland company Ballinlough Refrigeration.
