Dear Galway First,
It is good news that the economies of Galway city and County may be boosted by bringing the International Rally to Galway. (Galway First, December 15 )
Had Galway city applied to be designated as a City of Literature, it might, as Edinburgh did, bring in upwards of €2.5million to local coffers. Dublin has already set up a committee to oversee their application.
So how come Galway was asleep at the wheel on this issue? Whose responsibility was it to make sure that an application was pursued? Or is no one supposed to ask that question?
1, Carn Ard,
