Guitar virtuosos Túcan to play Róisín Dubh

Guitar fans are in for a treat at the Róisín Dubh on Tuesday December 16 at 9pm when Irish acoustic guitar duo Túcan take to the stage.

Túcan are Donal Gunne and Pearse Feeney, who incorporate classical music, 1960s rock, heavy metal, and jazz into their guitar playing style.

The pair have been playing together since 1999 though they only started to perform live four years ago. Neither has any formal musical training, each man preferring instead to develop his skills through keen ears, an insatiable love for music, and long hours honing melodies and arrangements.

Túcan have supported and shared the stage with Rodrigo y Gabriela, Kíla, José Feliciano, Regina Spektor (who personally asked them to support her at a concert in Tripod ), Seamie O’Dowd, The Pale, and Dervish. It’s certainly better than the days when they used to busk on the street. Túcan are currently banned from busking on Grafton Street for using amplifiers!

Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh and Zhivago.
