Add glamour to your house this Christmas

If you’re the one to organise the Christmas meal this year, you certainly have a responsible task to fulfil. Apart from all the food and drinks, you also want to make your house look as nice as possible in the festive season. If you want to add some glamour to your interior and impress a few guests, there are a few simple decorative touches that can do the trick. They don’t take much time, money or effort, so they should be perfect for this busy time of the year.

You can start by decorating your Christmas baubles with a ribbon bow on top. Take into consideration what colour your baubles are and try to picture them on your Christmas tree, then pick the right colour for your ribbons. If your baubles are golden, red will be the best colour to go with them. If they’re blue, white will brighten them up slightly and if they’re red, gold as well as silver are the colours to go for. You can also wrap the baubles with a piece of crepe paper, scrunch it together at the top and then tie with some ribbon. You don’t have to do that with all your baubles; you can choose to decorate a few this way, so they nicely stand out and attract even more attention.

Next thing you can do is cover your Christmas crackers with a piece of crepe paper and stick in place. Next, tie a bow either side of the barrel using the pink chiffon ribbon, then tuck the paper inside the ends of the cracker. Spray a small star with gold paint and when dry glue a stone to the centre. Cut and stick a piece of silver ribbon around the middle of the barrel and glue the star to the centre.

For a certainly original Christmas tree top, you can use feathers this year. Take three feathers and tie them together with wire. Once you’ve that done, attach to your tree with a large ribbon bow. It won’t go unnoticed!

Do you have quite a few coming to your Christmas dinner? You surely want them to find their seats easily. Why not tie the big dinner plates and the smaller dessert ones on top together with a length of a ribbon? Then, on a small card, write the guest’s name, preferably using a gold pen, and glue a feather to the card. Attach it all to the ribbon for everyone to see from afar.

At the very end, when you have everything ready and laid out, there’s one more thing you can do to add glamour to your Christmas table. Buy a packet of small, shiny, gold stars and scatter them around the whole tablecloth, in between the dishes. It creates a fabulous look and invites everyone to a lovely laid out table full of delicious festive meals.
