Galway girl hit back after model jibe

Galway model boss Mandy Maher has hit back after international industry expert Fiona Ellis’s not too complimentary take on Galway girls.

The model expert who was in Ireland spearheading RTE’s new Model Agent show admitted she was very let down by Galway’s model wannabes.

After her scouting visit to Galway she said, “Galway wasn’t so great; it was just OK. Nobody really blew me away, to be honest”.

However Ms Maher, who just launched her company’s new website catwalkmodels.ie, hit back, defending Galway girls.

Speaking to Galway First she said, “I’m not too impressed by the comments. I don’t know what they were looking at but there is some great talent in Galway - there is some fabulous looking girls.

“But then again I have the cream of the crop and the best people aren’t going to leave me to take part in a competition.”

Ms Ellis also hit out at Irish girls for their fondness of fake tan.

“I’m looking for the classical Irish beauty. I want to find someone with the dark hair, pale skin, and piercing blue eyes. A gorgeous girl doesn’t need much make-up. In my book, less is more.”
