Career Path College, trading as the Irish Ambulance Training Institute, a Galway based company providing training nationwide, has new and exciting training packages to suit those interested in a career in the healthcare industry, the ambulance service, nursing homes, and hospitals.

The healthcare support and nursing studies QQI Level 5 major award is designed to prepare people to work competently, safely, and effectively as a healthcare assistant in a variety of settings such as nursing homes, hospitals, and as home help carers. The course is structured to provide graduates with a high standard of training and assessment, leading to a recognised qualification for those pursuing a career in the healthcare sector. It is also a preparatory course designed for students who intend to pursue further training in healthcare such as nursing. Past students have been successful in applying to third level colleges and gained access to nursing and psychiatric nursing degree courses.

The emergency medical technician course is designed to prepare students to work in the emergency services, trained to respond quickly to emergency situations regarding medical illnesses, traumatic injuries, and medication administration. It also runs a number of supplementary courses in this area to include emergency first response, first aid response, cardiac first response (CPR ), and manual handling and patient moving. Former students are currently employed with the HSE, private ambulance services, and fire services.
