CPR/AED and VDU assessor training courses at Western Management Centre

Health and safety is now very much part of everyday life, be it at home, work, sporting activities, or community events. Any training to upskill in this area is therefore invaluable.

Anyone at any time can be called upon to deal with someone having a heart attack or choking. AED (defibrillator ) machines are located in lots of places now, but they are no good if someone cannot use them when required.

Being trained in CPR and AED are indispensable and essential life skills. Western Management Centre runs a half day CPR and AED course which is certified by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council.

Legislation requires that all hazards in a workplace be identified, risk assessed, and that adequate remedies be put in place. This also applies to employees working in an office and sitting at a computer (or VDU ). The term used is ergonomics and the process is called a VDU assessment. The aim of the VDU assessment is to identify and subsequently reduce the amount of strain and stress on the body.

The one-day VDU assessors course provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and key techniques to carry out assessments in the workplace.

Other health and safety courses offered by Western Management Centre include Safe Pass, manual handling, manual handling instructor course (including the refresher course ), occupational first aid, people moving and handling, fork truck certification, fire warden, and chemical handling.
