Kila to play Monroe’s Live

FILM MAKER Neil Jordan has spoken in awe of their "wonderful, shamanistic energy"; The BBC World Review has called their concerts "beautifully euphoric live experiences"; while Bono said, "You get the feeling they lit the fuse for the big bang."

Kíla will be bringing that mad, marvellous, energy to Monroe's Live on Friday December 29 at 8pm. They are widely renowned for their live energetic performances and have played in more than 30 countries across the Americas, Asia, Australia, Africa, and Europe, notable festivals include The Montreux Jazz festival, WOMAD worldwide, the Sziget festival, Glastonbury, and Electric Picnic. Last year the band closed the Cambridge Folk Festival on the main stage.

Kíla's music has featured in many documentaries on RTÉ, TG4, and the BBC. They also collaborated with French composer Bruno Coulais on the soundtracks for Cartoon Saloon’s Oscar nominated and Annie winning animations The Secret of Kells and The Song of the Sea. Kíla were also nominated for an Emmy in 2015 for their soundtrack to the film Ireland’s Wild River. This year saw the band release their third live album, and 19th album overall, Alive Beo.
