Galway Actors Workshop to host new course for the autumn

CONNEMARA FILM maker Linda Bhreathnach, writer, producer, and co-director of the acclaimed short film Adulting, will give a workshop in Acting for Camera at the Galway Actors Workshop.

Acting for Camera takes place on Saturday November 4 and Sunday 5 from 11am to 6pm and is suitable for those with some experience of acting, intending to develop their skills in working for screen and getting comfortable. The course will end with a short screening of students’ work. The cost is €160/150.

The Galway Actors Workshop will also host Acting 101, a six-week intensive course, suitable for beginners or those who have not done it in a while and are looking to get back into acting. Basic skills are covered through games, exercises and improvisations, with the main focus on developing confidence, getting comfortable performing in front of others, and learning how to create characters and settings. Classes take place on Tuesdays from 6.30pm to 9.30pm, starting November 7, and running for six weeks. Runs 6 weeks. The cost is €160/150.
