It’s glamour and Glitz as Ballinderreen goes Strictly tomorrow Friday October 13 when it sees the culmination of many months of hard work by twenty brave dancers in the first ever Strictly Ballinderreen Gala Event.
The ten couples will take to the floor for the first time as this hotly anticipated fundraising event finally kicks off. After months of intense training, under the expert guidance of dance teacher Caroline Cawley from Stageworks , the ten talented couple here will don their sparkling outfits and dancing shoes as they begin the battle to claim the coveted trophy.
The dancers, here who have all been so generous with their time, have each raised significant funds for the Ballinderreen National School Development Fund. Barry Quinn, Principal, commented ‘The school, Board of Management, and indeed the whole community are immensely grateful to the dancers who have shown huge commitment and dedication to both perfecting their dancing skills and raising significant funds for the school. As a result of their hard work and effort, we will be able to provide additional classrooms and yard-space for our pupils’.
Event Co-ordinator Louise Taylor said ‘We have been overwhelmed by the fantastic response from the local community and businesses. The event was an instant sell-out, with all tickets being snapped up on the day of launch. There is a real sense of excitement around the village, and the fun rivalry between the dancing couples adds to the event. Those who can’t make it on the night but still want to vote for their favourite couple can do so on our Strictly Ballinderreen iFundraise page. Remember every vote counts’. Strictly Ballinderreen takes place in the Clayton Hotel, Ballybrit, this Friday October 13th, and kicks off at 7pm with a Prosecco reception. The main event has been generously sponsored by the Galway Clinic, both Anthony Ryans and Louis Copeland are sponsoring Best Dressed on the Night. This night is set to be the highlight of the Ballinderreen social calendar.
